Event overview
Gourdy's Pumpkin Run: Akron is scheduled for October 17, 2026, at 7 17 Credit Union Park (formerly Canal Park), 300 S Main St., Akron, OH 44308. The event features a 5K (3.1 miles) road race through downtown Akron. The race is open to all ages and abilities. After finishing, participants receive a cup of apple cider and a small pumpkin to take home. Registration proceeds help support Girls on the Run.
Registration, inclusions and services
Registered participants receive entry to the 5K, a 2026 lightweight tech hoodie, a 2026 finisher's medal, a commemorative race bib with chip timing, a cup of apple cider at the finish line, and a small pumpkin. Packet pick-up is mentioned in relation to add-on options.
Teams, Tough Pumpkin and volunteering
Teams are created by the first registrant, who sets a team name and password; other participants can join using that information. Each team member saves $5 on registration. The Tough Pumpkin add-on can be added during registration; participants choose a pumpkin at packet pick-up (sizes range from a couple of pounds up to ten pounds) and receive an exclusive Tough Pumpkin medal in addition to the regular finisher medal. Volunteer shifts are available; volunteers may choose a free race registration or a donation to Girls on the Run, and receive an exclusive volunteer shirt, a beanie and light snacks.
