Gourdy's Pumpkin Run: Akron : Fall 5K
Gourdy's Pumpkin Run in Akron is a seasonal 5K covering the full 3.1 miles through downtown Akron on city streets. The course starts in front of the ballpark at 7 17 Credit Union Park (formerly Canal Park) and passes local landmarks and classic architecture amid October foliage. The finish area offers crisp apple cider and a photo opportunity with the finisher medal.
Registration fees listed for the event range from $39 to $59 depending on the registration period. Early registrants are able to guarantee hoodie size. Team registration is available: the first person to create a team becomes the team captain and each team member saves $5 on registration while still paying individually.
Packet pick-up is available the night before at the ballpark or on race morning. Waves separate participants by expected pace; example wave designations include a faster Wave A and walker-dedicated Wave F for solo walkers and Wave G for walking groups. About one third of participants choose to walk the course.
Parking is available in nearby garages, surface lots, and meters. Merchandise is offered through the event store. Volunteers receive a choice of a free race registration or a donation to Girls on the Run, plus an exclusive volunteer shirt and beanie. Official participant materials and race results are posted close to race time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
