Gosfield Triathlon & Multisport 2026
The event takes place at Gosfield Lake Resort near Braintree and Halstead, Essex on 26 July 2026. It is held at a popular open water swimming venue with a transition area on the lake bank. Entry is limited to 300 competitors and entrants must be at least 18 years old on race day.
Races offered:
- Standard Distance Triathlon: 1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run (£68)
- Sprint Distance Triathlon: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run (£58)
- Aquabike: 1500m swim, 40km bike (£42)
- Aquathlon: 1500m swim, 10km run (£42)
- Duathlon: 5km run, 20km bike, 5km run (£42)
- Swim Only: 1500m (£27.50)
Swim starts use a rolling format; the 1500m swim is two laps of a 750m lake course. There is a 1 hour 15 minute cut off for swim only entries. The bike course uses mainly rural roads and includes one or two 20km laps passing Sible Hedingham, Blackmore End and Beazley End. The run route is under review; if unchanged it will use a looped section with paths, grassland and some road footpath sections. All races will be chip timed. First place trophies are awarded by gender and age category for triathlon and duathlon and for aquabike, aquathlon and the swim. Competitors receive a finisher medal and a T-shirt with sizes from XS to XXXL.
The event follows British Triathlon rules. An approved cycle helmet is mandatory. Non British Triathlon members must purchase a race pass at additional cost of £8 or £2 for participants aged 24 and under. Refunds are available up to four weeks before the event less a £10 administration fee; after that date no refunds are offered. Changes to entries close two weeks before the event and there will be no entries on the day.
Sustainability measures include recycling, swim hat recycling, reduced bib numbers, use of recyclable materials and redistribution of unused nutrition to local charities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
