Map Adventure in Santa Rosa
The Good Grief event takes place in Santa Rosa, California, starting from Depot Park. This map adventure offers a unique way to explore the city while visiting iconic statues of characters from the Peanuts comic strips. Participants use a custom map with a 1:7500 scale to navigate between specific checkpoints marked by circles.
At each checkpoint, participants answer a multiple-choice question before moving to the next location. The event includes two primary distances:
- 5K: A course featuring approximately 15 checkpoints.
- 5M: A longer course featuring 23 checkpoints.
Participants can enter individually or as part of a team consisting of one to five people. Division categories include Men, Women, Mixed, Junior, Open, Masters (for those with an average age of 40 or older), and Family. Registration is available in advance or on the day of the event.
The course is located near public transit options, including the SMART train downtown Santa Rosa stop and the regional bus terminal. The event takes place regardless of the weather. Following the completion of the course, refreshments and social activities are provided at the finish area.
