Course and logistics
The course uses equestrian trails with surfaces of dirt, sand and rock. The event follows a 5K and 10-mile loop layout, showing about 720 ft of elevation per 10-mile loop (rolling hills). Aid stations provide food, snacks, water, electrolytes, ice and pickle juice; key stations listed include the main start/finish aid, "The Philistine" and Samuels. The loop is small enough that no drop bags will be shipped.
Participants must carry a water-carrying system (minimum 16 ounces for distances except the 5K and 10K). Headlamps are required for night running on the 50K and 50M. Pacers are allowed for the last two laps of the 50 Miler. Ruck requirements: runners over 150 lb carry a 30 lb ruck, under 150 lb carry a 20 lb ruck; ruck sack or vest is permitted.
Awards and race items
All finishers receive a Goliath's 50 finisher medal. Additional items include a long-sleeve event shirt, first-place trophies for male and female in each distance, a 10 Mile Ruck patch, and a 50 Miler belt buckle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
