Events

The Goldsborough Creek Run/Walk offers five events:

  • 7 mile Walk
  • 7 Mile Run
  • 2 Mile Run or Walk
  • 1/4 Mile Junior Jog
  • 1/4 mile Senior Stretch (for participants aged 65+)

The event is organized by the Centennial Guild of the Mason General Hospital Foundation. Proceeds support hospital equipment needs and a scholarship program.

Course Information

All events except the 1/4 Mile Junior Jog and 1/4 mile Senior Stretch start in Shelton Valley, a farming community west of Shelton. Check-in and race-day registration open at 6:00 AM at the corner of 2nd and Railroad Streets. From there, participants are bused to the start line.

The 7 mile course follows a loop through the Shelton Valley farming community. The 2 mile route leaves Shelton Valley and goes directly to downtown Shelton. All events finish on the parade route in front of the Shelton Post Office.

The 1/4 mile events for juniors and seniors start on 7th Street and continue to the Post Office.

Logistics and Registration

The event is part of the annual Mason County Forest Festival. A reduced early registration fee is available until May 8. Pre-registration ends on May 28. Race-day registration carries an additional $5 fee for all running and walking events. Awards are presented at 9:45 AM. The Mason County Forest Festival Parade begins at 11:00 AM.
