Goldsborough Creek Run/Walk
The event in Shelton, Washington is a community run and walk held as part of the Mason County Forest Festival. It is organized by the Centennial Guild of Mason General Hospital Foundation and raises funds for hospital equipment needs and a scholarship program in memory of a long-time nurse and Guild member. Check-in and registration take place downtown at the corner of 2nd and Railroad Streets. Participants are transported by bus from check-in to the start at Shelton Valley Christian School for the main events. All races finish on the parade route in front of the Shelton Post Office.
Distances offered:
- 7 miles walk or run
- 2 miles run or walk
- 0.25 miles junior jog and senior stretch
The 7 mile run and the 2 mile events use electronic chip timing provided by Peak Performance. The 7 mile walk is not electronically timed and does not receive awards. Overall winners in timed events receive an engraved mug; age division winners receive medals and ribbons to second and third place. The 1/4 mile junior jog awards a medal and a commemorative book to participants. The senior stretch is intended for older adults who prefer a shorter, level walk along Railroad Avenue.
