2026 Golden Helix 5k
The Golden Helix 5k (GH5K) is an annual open-road race taking place on the campus of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee. This event features a single distance:

The course is set around the university grounds, with the start and finish lines located outside the Stonecipher Lecture Hall. This building is situated on Wings Up Way between Stadium Drive and Peachtree Avenue. The race uses professional timing services to track participant results.
Organization of the event is led by the Student Affiliates of the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with support from the Student Members of the American Chemical Society and the Chem-Med Club. Financial proceeds from the event support these student organizations and the Upper Cumberland Remote Area Medical Clinic held at Cookeville High School.
Free public parking is available across the campus on weekends. Recommended parking areas for participants include the lots behind the TN Tech STEM Center, along Stadium Drive, and near the Laboratory Science Commons and Stonecipher Auditorium. Current Tennessee Technological University students are eligible for sponsored registration and may participate without a fee by providing a valid student identification card during the packet pick-up process.
