Gold Rush 5K
The Gold Rush 5K takes place on October 17, 2026 at the University of North Georgia - Memorial Hall in Dahlonega, Georgia. The event includes in-person and virtual options: a standard 5K Run/Walk, a Student 5K, and a Virtual 5K. The standard 5K Run/Walk is listed as a Peachtree Road Race qualifier.
The course is USATF certified, Course #GA12001WC, with the start and finish in front of Memorial Hall. The route passes through Dahlonega Town Square during the Annual Gold Rush Festival in the fall season in the North Georgia Mountains.
Packet pick-up is available the day before at the Lumpkin County Board of Education located at 56 Indian Drive, Dahlonega, GA 30533. Race day packet pick-up and race day registration are available at the University of North Georgia Memorial Hall; race day registration fee is $45.
Awards are given to overall male and female, overall master (40+) male and female, and first through third place by male and female age groups including 14 and under, 15-19, and five-year bands up to 80 and over.
Participants who register by October 9 will receive a race t-shirt; after that date shirts are available on a first-come basis. Snacks, fruit, and water will be provided. All proceeds benefit high school senior scholarships and non-profit organizations in the Lumpkin County community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
