Gold Rush 5K : Dahlonega, Georgia
The Gold Rush 5K is scheduled for October 17, 2026, at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. The event offers in-person and virtual participation options, including a general 5K Run/Walk and a Student 5K. A virtual 5K option is available to support the Dahlonega Rotary Club and its beneficiaries and includes a race t-shirt for participants who register for the virtual event.
The course is USATF certified, Course #GA12001WC, with the start and finish in front of Memorial Hall at UNG. The route passes through the Dahlonega Town Square during the Annual Gold Rush Festival in the North Georgia Mountains. Registration fees listed for pre-event registration are $30 for the 5K Run/Walk, $25 for the Student 5K, and $35 for the Virtual 5K; race day registration is $45. All participants registered by October 9 will receive a race t-shirt; after that date shirts are available on a first-come basis.
Packet pick-up is available at the Lumpkin County Board of Education and packet pick-up plus race day registration take place at the UNG Memorial Hall gymnasium. Postrace snacks, fruit, and water will be offered. Awards include overall male and female, overall master 40 plus male and female, and 1st to 3rd place male and female in standard age group brackets.
