Glenrothes Road Running Festival
The Glenrothes Road Running Festival is an annual multi-distance event held at the Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre in Glenrothes. Organised by the Fife Olympiad SCIO Committee in partnership with the Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, the festival has been held for over 40 years.
The event features several different categories to accommodate various age groups and experience levels:
- 10 km Road Race: Open to participants aged 15 and over on race day.
- 4 km Road Race: Designed specifically for school-age children.
- 2 km Fun Run: A family-friendly event where participants can run, walk, or jog.
- 200 m Junior Jog: Held on the running track for children under the age of five.
Runners participating in the 10 km distance can access a 12-week training plan provided by the organisers. Registration fees vary by distance, with discounts available for SA members and early bird entries for the main road race. For the children's events, entries are often available at the leisure centre reception or at the venue on the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
