Event Details
The Glasgow University Aquathlon 2026 will be held at Glasgow Club Scotstoun. The event offers two different race distances.
Distances
- Sprint Aquathlon: A 750m pool swim followed by a 5km run.
- Novice Aquathlon: A 400m pool swim followed by a 2.5km run.
Course and Format
The swim takes place in a 25-meter pool. The run course uses pavements; the sprint distance involves two laps and the novice distance one lap. The run route is provisional and may be subject to change. A timing team will provide live results online during the event.
Participant Information
The event is open to all and is paratriathlon friendly; participants are encouraged to contact the organiser to discuss accessibility. For the Novice event, competitors must be 15 years or older by the end of 2026. For the Sprint event, the minimum age is 17 years. Participants must be able to complete the required swim lengths (30 for sprint, 16 for novice) within 30 minutes to maintain event flow. Free parking is available at the sports centre.
An additional British Triathlon Race Pass fee is required for participants who are not British Triathlon Home Nation members. After the event, there will be a prizegiving ceremony for overall winners and age categories in both the open and female categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
