Event Overview
The Give NCW Turkey Trot is a community running event taking place in Wenatchee, Washington. The event takes place on Thanksgiving Day and serves as the launch for the annual Give NCW online giving campaign. Participation fees are directed toward the Community Foundation of NCW to support over 75 regional nonprofit organizations.
Race Distances
Participants can choose from three different distance options:
- 10K: A timed race on the Apple Capital Loop Trail.
- 5K: A timed race tracking along the local riverfront.
- 1K: A free kids race located near the boat launch parking lot.
Course and Amenities
The 5K and 10K routes are held on the Apple Capital Loop Trail along the Wenatchee riverfront, starting and finishing behind Pybus Public Market. Specifically for these routes, aid stations providing water and Gatorade are positioned at the respective turnaround points. Portable toilets are available at the start and finish area, though facilities inside the market are not accessible during the event.
Children aged 12 and younger may participate in the 5K for free with a paid adult if they choose to run untimed. The first 750 paid registrants receive commemorative socks, while the first 150 participants in the kids race receive a swag bag.
Participation Details
The event permits strollers and leashed dogs on the course. Participants have the option to enter a dog for a small donation, which includes a bandana for the first 150 dogs registered. The event also features costume prizes for the best dressed individuals and groups. Packet pickup is organized at Pybus Market on the day before the race and on the morning of the event.
