Devil's Gulch - Evergreen Trail Runs
Devil's Gulch is a trail running event at Mission Ridge Ski Area in the eastern Cascades. The race takes place on Ponderosa pine forest and high ridgelines with views of the Cascades, and the course includes gulches, rock hoodoos, steep technical single track, and smoother flowing trails.
Distances offered
- Half Marathon with about 2,500′ elevation gain
- 50 Miler with about 11,000′ elevation gain
- 100 Miler with about 20,000′ elevation gain
All distances start with a climb from the resort base. The longer courses travel to Mission Peak and Tronson Ridge and include remote sections such as an 8 mile technical lollipop near Blewett Pass for the 100 Miler. The 100 Miler requires prior completion of at least a 50 Miler and allows pacers. Aid stations are located throughout the courses; some stations are water only for certain distances and full aid is available at specific points on the 100 Miler. Evergreen events are cupless so runners must carry a refillable container.
There is a free Woodland Speeders kids race of roughly 3/4 mile with about 200′ of gain. Packet pickup includes a mandatory pre race meeting for 50 and 100 Miler entrants where drop bags and required gear are checked. Finishers receive event swag including a belt buckle for 100 Miler finishers and handcrafted awards for other distances. The event operates under a special use permit and acknowledges lands historically inhabited by Np̓əšqʷáw̓səxʷ / Wenatchi and Yakama. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
