Givaudan Ashford 10k
The Givaudan Ashford 10k is a road running event staged in partnership with Ashford AC. The race is notable for being one of the few fully road-closed events in Kent. The course begins and ends on the athletics track at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford.
The 10 km route is described as fairly flat and gently undulating, following a circuit that goes through the town before returning to the stadium. The final segment involves running down the finishing straight of the track, where spectators can watch from the trackside and the stands. The course features 1 km markers and a water station at the midpoint.
Participants must be at least 15 years old on the day of the event to compete under UK Athletics rules. The event uses a wave start system based on expected finishing times, and timing is recorded via a chip system. There are no on-the-day entries available; advanced registration is required.
Facilities at the Julie Rose Stadium include:
- Toilets
- Car parking
- Refreshment station and cafe
- Bag drop area
Every person who completes the course receives a special medal commissioned specifically for the event. The venue also hosts music and live race commentary during the proceedings. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
