Girvan Half Marathon - 12 July 2026
The Girvan Half Marathon is a measured country course that runs from Girvan to Dailly and back, with start and registration at Hamilton Park, Girvan, South Ayrshire, KA26 9HQ. The course holds a Scottish Athletics Limited (SAL) Certificate of Accuracy and is held under SAL permit and rules.
Runners must be over 17 years old on the day. The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs. Running with buggies or pets is not permitted. Headphones are not allowed except for bone conduction devices.
There are four water stops on the course; a cup of water will be available at each stop. Runners are advised to check weather conditions on race day and to be self-prepared for hydration. Changing facilities, including showers, are available in the Hamilton Park Pavilion. Refreshments will be available for runners and families, and finishers will receive a medal and refreshments.
Entry is limited to 150 places. Online entries close on 5 July 2026; late entries on the day may be accepted only if the maximum has not been reached. All entry fees are non-refundable and there is no deferment system. Transfers of entry to another runner are permitted free of charge up until two weeks before the race via the event entry system.
Prizes are awarded for 1st to 3rd male and female overall, plus age-category prizes for 40, 50, 60 and 70 (first male and female in each category), with one prize per person. Prize presentations take place at Hamilton Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
