Girvan Half Marathon
The Girvan Half Marathon takes place on 12 July 2026 with the starting point and registration at Hamilton Park, Girvan, South Ayrshire KA26 9HQ. The course is a measured country route from Girvan to Dailly and back and holds a SAL Certificate of Accuracy.
The event is held under the permit and rules of Scottish Athletics Limited. Runners must be over 17 years old on the day. The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs. Running with buggies or pets is not permitted. Headphones are not allowed except for bone conduction types.
There are four water stops along the route where a cup of water will be available. Runners are advised to prepare for weather conditions and to manage their own hydration. Changing facilities including showers are available in the Hamilton Park Pavilion. As finishers cross the line they will receive a medal and refreshments.
Entry is available online until 5 July 2026; late entries on the day may be accepted only if the maximum field of 150 has not been reached. All entry fees are non-refundable once processed and no deferment system operates. Transfers to another runner are allowed free of charge up to two weeks before the race via the event entry service.
Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and to first male and female in 40, 50, 60 and 70 age categories with one prize per person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
