Culzean Castle Trail Runs
The Culzean Castle Trail Runs take place within the Culzean Castle and Country Park in Ayrshire, on the west coast of Scotland. This 642-acre estate features a variety of terrain, including gardens, beaches, and woodland. The event uses the 18th-century castle, situated on the Ayrshire cliffs, as a backdrop for the various routes.
Participants can choose from three different distances:
- 5 km Trail Run (minimum age 11)
- 10 km Trail Run (minimum age 15)
- Half Marathon Trail Run (minimum age 17)
The event is Canicross friendly, allowing one controlled dog per runner. Timing is managed using a live chip-timing system. The courses consist of a mixture of trails that travel through the estate, passing landmarks such as the Swan Pond, ice house, and formal gardens.
All finishers receive an event medal, merchandise, and a snack and drink. Participants have the option to purchase an event T-shirt during registration. On-site parking is available for a fee, which includes access to the grounds for both entrants and spectators during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
