Girls on the Run Worcester County Spring 5K Celebration
This event is the season-closing celebratory 5K (3.1 miles) for Girls on the Run Worcester County. It takes place at Polar Park in Worcester, MA on Sunday, November 15, 2026. The 5K is presented as a noncompetitive, end-of-season celebration that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment.
Every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal. Participants registered during the early bird period are guaranteed a Girls on the Run 5K shirt. Program participants and their coaches are already registered by the council and do not need to register again. Every girl in the program must have a Running Buddy for the full duration of the course; Running Buddies must pass a background check unless appointed by the family and are generally expected to be age 16 or older.
The event includes additional activities and services such as face painting, happy hair stations, water stations, inspiration stations, and a merchandise booth. The course and event are described as accessible for people with disabilities, with designated parking available. Safety measures include race bibs for all participants, course monitoring, head counts, and a council safety plan that trains staff and volunteers to respond to incidents or emergencies.
