5K Celebration : Girls on the Run Worcester County
Girls on the Run Worcester County concludes its season with a celebratory 5K (3.1 miles) at Polar Park in Worcester, MA on Sunday, November 15, 2026. The event serves as the season-closing celebration for program participants and offers a tangible experience of completion.
Every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal. Participants registered during the Early Bird period are guaranteed a Girls on the Run 5K t-shirt. Program participants and their coaches are already registered through the council and do not need to register again. Every girl in the program must be accompanied by a Running Buddy who completes the course alongside her; Running Buddies must meet background check and age requirements set by the council.
Registration fees listed by category include a Running Buddy fee of $35 and Community Runner fees that range from $45 for Early Bird to $65 on the day of the event. Registration forms include liability waivers.
The event is presented as inclusive and accessible: participants may walk, run, push, or roll at their own pace, and designated parking is available. For safety, participants wear race bibs, the council assigns Running Buddies, volunteers and staff monitor the course, and a safety plan guides emergency response.
Additional on-site features include water stations, face painting, happy hair and inspiration stations, merchandise sales, and other activities. Volunteers are recruited for roles such as First Aid (medical certification required, 18+), Greeters (14+), Course Marshals (16+), Water Stop (18+), merchandise and set-up crews, and activity stations.
