5K Celebration : Fall 2026 Season
The Girls on the Run Worcester County Spring 5K is the season closing celebratory 5K for the Fall 2026 season, held at Polar Park in Worcester, MA (100 Madison Street). The event marks the completion of the program and gives participants a tangible sense of accomplishment when they finish the 5K course, which is 3.1 miles.
Every registered program participant and their coaches are already registered for the event; program girls receive a commemorative medal upon completing the course. Each girl must have a Running Buddy for the full duration of the course; Running Buddies must be approved by the council and generally must be age 16 or older unless appointed by the family. Running Buddies may require a background check.
The council describes this event as family friendly and accessible. The course can be walked, run, pushed, or rolled, and designated parking spots are available. Safety measures include mandatory race bibs, course monitoring, head counts, and a safety plan with trained staff and volunteers. Registration categories and fees differ for Running Buddies and community runners, with varied early, general, and day of event prices. Early bird registrants are guaranteed a GOTR 5K t shirt while supplies last.
