5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Worcester County 5K is the end of season celebratory event for the Fall 2026 season. It takes place on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at Polar Park in Worcester, MA. The closing 5K gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment and each registered finisher receives a commemorative medal.
Program participants and their coaches are already registered by the council and do not need to complete separate registration. Every program participant must have a Running Buddy who accompanies them for the entire course; Running Buddies are expected to be age 16 or older and must pass a background check unless appointed by the family. Community runners must register separately; community registration fees are listed with an early bird price that includes a shirt, a general registration price, and a higher day of event price. For non program participants, the price increases three weeks before the event.
Safety and access measures include a required race bib for all participants, course monitoring and head counts, a council safety plan with trained staff and volunteers, and designated accessible parking. The event includes inspiration stations, water stations, face painting and happy hair stations, and a merchandise tent. Volunteers are needed for multiple roles, some of which require age minimums or medical certification. Participants are advised to arrive in time to warm up and complete check in.
