Girls on the Run Washington DC 5K
The event is a season-closing, celebratory 5K that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. It takes place on Sunday, November 22, 2026 at The Fields at RFK in Washington, DC.
The course is 3.1 miles, laid out as a flat 1.55 mile loop completed twice. Girls on the Run community 5Ks are not timed. Program participants receive a finisher's medal from their coaches at the team meeting area after the event; non-program participants receive a race premium at packet pick-up.
The event is open to family, friends and community members, but everyone on the course must be registered and wear a bib. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome and participants may walk, run, push or roll at their own pace. The course is mostly smooth with a few uneven areas; designated accessible parking is available. A Buddy Runner program pairs an adult runner with a participant who needs assistance for the full course; a background check is required and a registration deadline applies.
Packet pick-up is available at a race day tent, with an option to have bibs mailed for an additional fee. There is no parking inside Anacostia Park during the event; parking options noted by the organizer include a nearby garage and on-site Lot 6, which may have exit restrictions while the 5K is in progress. Balloons are not allowed and dogs may attend but may not run the race. The event operates rain or shine with safety protocols for severe weather.
