Girls on the Run Tulare and Fresno Counties 5K Celebration

The event is an end-of-season celebratory 5K held on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Orosi High School. The course distance is 3.1 miles and is presented as a noncompetitive, celebratory finish to the season. Every registered participant who completes the 5K receives a commemorative medal.

Program participants and coaches are already registered through the council and do not need additional registration. Family members, friends, and community members outside the program may participate but must register separately. Running Buddies are assigned to accompany participants for the entire course; parents or guardians may serve as Running Buddies and this is encouraged. Running Buddy registration options listed include a shirted option for $15 and a no shirt option at no charge for buddies.

The council describes accessibility and safety measures: the course is accessible for people with disabilities, designated parking is available, every participant must wear a race bib, running buddies are provided, the course is monitored with head counts, and staff and volunteers follow an established safety plan. Volunteers are required for set-up and tear down, registration, course marshalling, running buddy support, water stations, cheer stations, and activity stations such as face painting and happy hair. Volunteers appointed through the council will undergo a background check.

The council notes variations of 5K formats: site-based courses at regular practice sites, external community 5Ks organized by other groups, and virtual 5Ks completed at a location of the participant's choice. The price for non-program participants may increase three weeks before the event. Attendees are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before check-in to warm up and complete registration procedures.
