Girls on the Run South Georgia Coastal Lowcountry 5K
The Girls on the Run South Georgia Coastal Lowcountry 5K on November 7, 2026, at Georgia Southern University - Armstrong Campus (11935 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA 31419) serves as the season closing celebration for program participants. The event is a non-competitive 5K; the course is 3.1 miles and participants may walk, run, roll, push or skip at their own pace. Every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal.
Registration pricing is tiered: early bird registration is $20 through September 13, and general registration is $25 from September 14 through November 7. Program participants and coaches are already registered and do not need to register again. Family members and community participants may join but must register separately.
The event includes additional activities and services such as face painting, temporary tattoos, happy hair stations, water stations, and merchandise for sale. Volunteers support set up, parking, photography, activity stations, course marshals, water stations and course cheering; volunteers appointed through the council will undergo a background check. For safety, every participant must wear a race bib, each participant is assigned a running buddy, the course is monitored with head counts, and a safety plan guides staff and volunteers.
