Girls on the Run South Georgia Coastal Lowcountry 5K
The Girls on the Run South Georgia Coastal Lowcountry 5K is the program’s end-of-season celebration, held on November 7, 2026, at Georgia Southern University - Armstrong Campus, 11935 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA 31419. The event uses a 5K course, which is 3.1 miles.
The event is presented as a non-competitive celebration. Every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal. The council provides race bibs and running buddies, and anyone planning to participate must register. Program participants and coaches are already registered through the council.
Registration pricing is listed in two periods: an Early Bird rate of $20 through September 6, and a General rate of $25 from September 7 through November 7. Liability waivers are required with registration.
Safety measures include course monitoring, head counts, and a council safety plan with trained staff and volunteers. The course is accessible for people with disabilities and designated parking spots are available.
The event includes festival elements and family participation. Onsite features include water stations, face painting, happy hair and temporary tattoos, merchandise for sale, and volunteer roles such as set-up, parking, photographers, activity station staff, course marshals, water station attendants, and course cheerleaders.
