Girls on the Run South Georgia Savannah 5K
Girls on the Run South Georgia presents a season closing 5K celebration at Georgia Southern University - Armstrong Campus in Savannah, GA on November 7, 2026. The event is a noncompetitive, end of season 5K that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. Every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal.
The course length is 5K (3.1 miles). Family members, friends and community participants may join but must register. Program participants and coaches for the season are already registered and do not need to sign up again. All registration forms include liability waivers and require race bibs for safety.
On-course amenities and activities include face painting, temporary happy hair stations, temporary tattoos, water stations and merchandise for sale. The council provides event monitoring, head counts and a safety plan; each participant is paired with a running buddy and only essential volunteers have access to confidential information. The council states the 5K course is accessible so participants can walk, run, push or roll at their own pace, and designated accessible parking is available.
Volunteer roles support setup, parking, photography, activity stations, course marshalling, water stations and course cheering. Volunteers appointed through the council will undergo a background check. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
