About the race
Girls on the Run South Central Wisconsin holds a celebratory 5K to close each season. The Fall 2026 5K is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Waunakee Village Center in Waunakee, Wisconsin. The event is presented by SSM Health and brings Girls on the Run teams from across the council together for a run/walk that marks program completion.
The 5K is open to the public. Program participants and coaches are already registered and do not need to register again. Organizers expect around 2,000 attendees and provide registration windows with tiered fees: an Early Bird window (September 11 to October 18), a General window (October 19 to November 3), and day-of registration at the event. All registered participants receive a t-shirt, an official bib with pins, a finisher medal, sponsor giveaways, finish-line snacks, and free downloads of professional photos.
Packet pickup procedures vary by registration type; teams receive shirts from coaches during the last week of practice and bibs at their team site on the morning of the event. General registrants may pick up packets at the council office on specified dates before the event or at the venue on event morning. The course is accessible for people with disabilities, designated parking is available, strollers are allowed, and dogs are not permitted. Running Buddies support participants on course and should be 16 years of age or older. The event runs rain or shine. Volunteers and sponsor partners support event operations.
