Girls on the Run South Central Wisconsin 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run South Central Wisconsin 5K Celebration is a season closing community 5K held in Waunakee on November 7, 2026, at the Waunakee Village Center. The event serves as the culminating activity for Girls on the Run teams across the region and gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. The council expects around 2,000 attendees and notes there may be heavy traffic and limited street parking near the venue.
The event is open to the public; program participants and coaches are already registered through their teams and do not need to register separately. Nonparticipant runners must register and may choose from an Early Bird window (September 11 to October 18, $35), a General window (October 19 to November 3, $40), or register day of the event (fee applies). All GOTR participants receive a commemorative finisher medal. Registration includes a t-shirt, an official bib with pins, sponsor giveaways, finish-line snacks, and access to free professional photo downloads. The 5K is noncompetitive and accessible for people with disabilities; strollers are allowed and dogs are not permitted. The event also features packet pick up arrangements, volunteer roles, and a SoleMates fundraising option to support the program.
