Girls on the Run Piedmont Fall 5K : 5K Celebration
Girls on the Run Piedmont holds a seasonal celebratory 5K on November 15, 2026 at FredNats Baseball Stadium in Fredericksburg, VA. The event closes the program season and gives participants a tangible sense of accomplishment by completing a 5K (3.1 miles) course in an untimed, non-competitive setting.
All participants receive packet pickup on event day; there is no early pickup. Registered paid participants who meet the t-shirt deadline of October 31, 2026 are eligible for an event shirt. All registered paid 5K participants receive a finisher medal. Each Girls on the Run participant is assigned one complimentary Buddy Runner for course access, selected during girl registration; Buddy Runners may upgrade or register separately to receive a shirt and medal.
The council describes several safety and accessibility measures, including volunteer course marshals, moving course support, amateur radio and EMS presence, and designated accessible parking. Event policies note that the 5K takes place rain or shine and that no refunds will be issued. For safety, the council requests no headphones or dogs on the course. Volunteers are subject to background checks and a range of volunteer roles support check-in, course safety, finish line duties, and event setup and teardown.
