Girls on the Run Piedmont 5K Celebration
Girls on the Run Piedmont holds a season-closing, celebratory 5K (3.1 miles) on November 15, 2026, at FredNats Baseball Stadium in Fredericksburg, VA. The event is untimed and non-competitive; participants may walk, jog, skip, or run. All registered paid participants receive a finisher medal, and those who register by October 31, 2026 are eligible for an event t-shirt while supplies last.
Packet pickup is available only on event day during check-in. Each registered Girls on the Run participant receives one complimentary Buddy Runner for course access, selected during girl registration; Buddy Runners who want a full participant package may upgrade or register separately. Buddy Runners are recommended to be 16 years or older.
The council enforces several safety measures including required race bibs, course monitoring by volunteers and amateur radio operators, and on-site police and EMS support. The event policy disallows headphones and dogs on course. Designated accessible parking is provided and the council will attempt reasonable accommodations for participants with disabilities.
Community members can also register for the 5K. Online registration fees listed for community participants are Adult online $45, Adult day-of $50, Youth online $40, Youth day-of $45. The event proceeds rain or shine and refunds are not issued.
Volunteer roles cover set-up, check-in, course support, finish line, festival, and tear down; many roles require volunteers aged 16 or older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
