5K Celebration - Confidence through Accomplishment
The Girls on the Run Piedmont Fall 5K on November 15, 2026 at FredNats Baseball Stadium in Fredericksburg, VA is a season-closing event for Girls on the Run program participants. The event is an untimed, non-competitive 5K (3.1 miles) that aims to give participants a tangible sense of accomplishment by crossing the finish line. Every registered program participant receives a commemorative finisher medal.
Logistics for participant items are managed on event day: packets are distributed during check-in and there is no early pickup. T-shirt availability is subject to a registration deadline; sizes are not guaranteed after October 31, 2026. Each registered girl receives one complimentary Buddy Runner for course access; Buddy Runners who want a full participant experience may upgrade or register separately.
Safety and accessibility measures include required race bibs, volunteer course monitoring with radio and EMS support, designated accessible parking, and procedures to address severe weather. For course safety, headphones and earbuds are not permitted and dogs are not allowed on the course. The council makes efforts to accommodate participants with disabilities.
The event also includes team table activities such as Happy Hair, tattoos, and bib decorating, plus merchandise available at an event booth. A range of volunteer roles supports set-up, course marshaling, finish line operations, and festival tasks; many volunteer roles require background checks and have age guidelines.
