Girls on the Run Piedmont 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Piedmont 5K is a season-closing event held on November 15, 2026. The event is presented as a celebratory, untimed and non-competitive 5K that provides program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment and confidence through completion.
All registered 5K participants receive a finisher medal. Event shirts are available for registrants who meet the t-shirt deadline of October 31, 2026; sizes are not guaranteed after that date. Packets are distributed on event day only; there is no early pickup.
Each registered Girls on the Run participant receives one complimentary Buddy Runner for course access, selected during registration and not requiring separate registration. Buddy Runners who want the full participant experience, including a technical t-shirt, medal, and swag, may upgrade or register separately. The council recommends Buddy Runners be 16 years or older.
Safety measures include race bib requirements, course monitoring by volunteers and amateur radio support, and coordination with EMS and police. The council states it will make efforts to provide course accommodations for participants with disabilities and provides designated accessible parking.
