Twin Cities 5K Celebration
The Twin Cities 5K is a season-closing, celebratory event for Girls on the Run Minnesota held on November 8, 2026 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Saint Paul. The course runs on fairground roadways, begins near the Grandstand, weaves through State Fair locations, and finishes on Judson Ave.
The event is noncompetitive and open to runners and walkers of all ages. Each program participant and coach is automatically registered; other attendees register with a pay-what-you-can fee, listed at $40. Every registered participant receives a bib, t-shirt, commemorative medal, and post-race food. Every girl must be accompanied on course by a registered 5K Buddy, a trusted adult aged 18 or older who runs or walks alongside her.
To manage large participation, the event uses rolling wave starts and assigns teams a wave time and color for organization. Free parking is available in designated fairground lots and ADA parking is provided. Pets are not allowed on the course or in start and finish areas; strollers are permitted but asked to start near the back for safety.
Additional on-site accommodations include a sensory room for quieter preparation and a semi-private nursing and pumping space inside the History and Heritage Center.
