Twin Cities 5K Celebration
Girls on the Run Minnesota Twin Cities 5K is a season-closing, celebratory event held at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Saint Paul on November 8, 2026. The course is 5 kilometers and runs on the fairgrounds roadways, beginning near the Grandstand, passing through fair locations, and finishing on Judson Ave.
Every girl in the Girls on the Run program must attend with a registered 5K Buddy, a trusted adult 18 or older who runs or walks alongside her. The event is open to runners and walkers of all ages; family members and community participants may join but must register. Program participants and coaches are automatically registered.
The event uses rolling wave starts to manage a large field. Participants receive a bib, t-shirt, commemorative medal, and post-race food. Strollers are welcome but are asked to start at the back of the pack. Pets are not allowed on the course or in start and finish areas.
Accessibility and support features include designated ADA parking, a sensory room as a quiet space for participants and families, and a semi-private nursing and pumping area inside the History and Heritage Center. The 5K is planned to take place rain, snow or shine; organizers will notify participants if conditions become unsafe.
Volunteers age 14 and older can support outdoor roles that typically last two to three hours, such as course marshal, water stop, registration, and post-5K food. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
