Girls on the Run Fall 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Fall 5K Celebration is a season-closing event presented by Dayton Children's Hospital and made possible by Up and Running. It takes place on November 14, 2026, at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. The event includes a festival, a kiddie fun run, and the Girls on the Run 5K.
The 5K is a 3.1 mile course designed as a celebratory experience for program participants of all abilities. Program participants receive a commemorative medal and all registered participants receive GOTR branded race swag. Program participants and coaches are already registered through the program and do not need separate registration.
Event features include merchandise for sale, face painting, water stations, and happy hair stations. The course is accessible for people with disabilities and designated accessible parking is available. Free parking is provided in Lot 17. For safety, every participant must wear a race bib, participants are paired with a running buddy for the full course, and the council monitors the course with head counts and a trained safety plan. Volunteers who serve through the council undergo background checks.
Registration pricing is set by date: Early Bird online registration from June 9 to November 7 is $35, and General registration from November 8 to November 14 is $40.
