Girls on the Run CVABR Charlottesville 5K Celebration
Girls on the Run Central Virginia and Blue Ridge closes its season with a celebratory 5K (3.1 miles) held on Sunday, November 15, 2026 at Western Albemarle High School in Crozet, VA. The event is described as a season-ending celebration that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. Every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal.
Registration tiers are listed as Early Bird $25, General $35, and Race Day $45; program participants and coaches are already registered and do not need to register again. Parking for participants, families and registered runners is available on the high school campus.
The event includes on-site features such as water stations, happy hair stations, photo opportunities and merchandise for sale. A virtual 5K option is offered so participants can complete the 3.1-mile course from a location of their choice. All registrations include liability waivers.
Safety and accessibility measures noted by the council include mandatory race bibs, course monitoring with head counts, a council safety plan and designated parking spots on request. Volunteers support many roles including parking, registration, course monitoring, water stations and lap counting; volunteers appointed through the council undergo a background check. Running buddies are volunteers who complete the course alongside a participant and must also pass a background check. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
