Girls on the Run Washington 5K Celebration
Girls on the Run Mid and Western Maryland holds a season-closing 5K celebration on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Marty Snook Park in Hagerstown, MD. The event marks the end of the program season and is intended to give participants a tangible sense of accomplishment through completing a 5K course.
The course distance is 3.1 miles. Registered participants who complete the 5K receive a commemorative medal. Program participants and coaches are already registered through the program and do not need to register again; family members, friends, and community participants may also join but must register separately. Published registration fees list adult participants at $35, youth (12 and under) at $20, and virtual participants at $42.
Event amenities and activities include face painting, happy hair stations, water stations, a family fun zone, and merchandise sales. The course is described as accessible for people with disabilities, with designated accessible parking available. For safety, every participant must wear a race bib and the event uses a running buddy system; the council maintains a safety plan and monitors the course. Volunteers support set-up, registration, course marshaling, running buddies, water stations, cheer stations, and similar tasks; volunteers appointed through the council undergo a background check.
