Girlfriends Triathlon & Fitness Festival
The Girlfriends Triathlon & Fitness Festival is an all-women’s multisport event held August 9, 2026, at Frenchmans Bar in Vancouver, WA, along the Columbia River. The event is presented as the 30th annual edition and highlights views of the Columbia River, Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens and Vancouver Lake. The main course is described as flat with a down-current swim close to shore.
Event formats include sprint triathlon, sprint duathlon, aqua-bike, and a standalone 5 km run. The festival is part of a larger weekend program that includes co-ed races and a kids triathlon and sunset 5K/10K on the preceding days.
Adult distances:
- Sprint Triathlon: 825 yd / 750 m / 0.466 mi swim, 12 mi bike, 5 km run
- Sprint Duathlon: 5 km run, 12 mi bike, 5 km run
- AquaBike: swim then 12 mi bike, finish after bike
- Girlfriends 5 km run: 5 km
Kids triathlon distances by age:
- 6 and under: 25 yd swim, 0.5 mi bike, 0.25 mi run
- 7–10 years: 100 yd swim, 2 mi bike, 0.45 mi run
- 11–15 years: 200 yd swim, 3 mi bike, 0.55 mi run
The festival follows USA Triathlon rules. Helmets are mandatory for cycling and personal music devices are prohibited during the bike segment. Chip timing is used and body marking is required. Awards include top three women overall, masters champions, and age-group awards across standard age brackets. The event benefits the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes. Supporter access is limited once the race begins; alternate parking from Vancouver Lake may require a walk or bike of about three miles.
