Girdwood Marathon 2026
The Girdwood Marathon 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026 in Girdwood, Alaska, with the race hub at the Alyeska Daylodge. The event uses local trails through a temperate rainforest and includes multiple marked trail sections and resort mountain trails.
The course network includes Winner Creek Trail, Upper/Middle/Lower Iditarod Trails, Nordic 5K Loop, Tiny Trail, Athabascan Trail, California Creek Trail, Abe's Trail, Beaver Pond Trail, Bird-to-Gird Trail, Winner Creek Extension Trail, the Alyeska Bike Path, and the new Kettle Pond Trail among other Alyeska Resort trails. Course routing may include a foot crossing of Glacier Creek; the final crossing plan depends on water levels.

There are five aid stations along the course and pitchers available to fill hydration packs or bottles. Amenities at the Daylodge include parking, bathrooms, and gear storage. Participants are asked to carry their own water and bear spray as needed.
Race policies include no refunds, no bib transfers, and a marathon-specific time cutoff at the Crow Creek Road aid station (strict cutoff enforced). AirPods are discouraged and dogs are not allowed for racers or spectators. The event is a fundraiser for the Girdwood Nordic Ski Club; awards and post-race food are provided.
