Cirque Series : Alyeska Resort, Girdwood AK

The event on July 25, 2026 at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood covers 6.1 miles with approximately 3,912 ft of vertical gain. The course begins near sea level at the DayLodge area, climbs on Tanaka Cat Road through the lower bowl to the Silvertip single track, and continues up Center Ridge to Teacup Bowl and the Headwall at about 3,800 ft. The ridge includes short ups and downs and a gradual downgrade to the MAX weather station near 3,300 ft.

The descent leaves exposed rock and alpine heather, then enters the heavily wooded Max’s Mountain trail. The trail drops through hemlock and spruce with moss covered logs and loamy soil; the final section exits to Tanaka Cat Road and returns to the DayLodge finish area.

Safety and race controls are emphasized. The course is marked and runners must follow flagging and marshal directions. Competitors must inspect Center Ridge before race day and are subject to a strict 50 minute cut off at the start of Center Ridge. Runners should use careful footwork on technical sections, warn others if they kick loose rock, and protect their heads if warned.

Categories include Sport, Expert and Pro, with prizes and age group awards. Timing uses a disposable chip on the back of the bib. Race registration is capped at 600 runners and hydration is provided at one on course aid station and the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
