Germantown Fire & EMS Night Run
The Germantown Fire & EMS Night Run is an evening athletic event held at Kercher Park in Germantown, Ohio. Organised to support the Germantown Fire and EMS Association, the event takes place within the park grounds and utilizes the community walking path. Participants start and finish at the park pavilion, where parking, hydration, snacks, and music are provided for attendees.
The course is designed as an out-and-back route. It leads runners and walkers past several park features, including basketball courts and the disc golf course. The event utilizes the local community walking path to guide participants through the park landscape before they return to the pavilion area for the conclusion of the activities.
Attendees can choose between two main distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5k Night Run)
- 1 Mile (Night Walk)
The atmosphere includes various glowing elements such as glow sticks, flashing lights, and light-up glasses. Food trucks are stationed at the park for participants and their families. Following the completion of the distances, an award ceremony is held near the pavilion. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers, as well as to first-place winners across several age categories ranging from 12 and under to 70 and over.
