Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon
The Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon, also called the GTIS Half, is an annual point to point half marathon held in August. The 48th edition is scheduled for August 8, 2026. The course follows Clear Creek Valley and is described as a gently rolling downhill mountain route.
The race begins near Georgetown Lake at about 8,500 ft elevation and finishes in Idaho Springs at about 7,500 ft in Colorado's historic mining town. The event is hosted by the Clear Creek Booster Club and is planned by parent volunteers. Proceeds from the event support middle school and high school students in Clear Creek County.
Included event features listed by the organizer are a custom finisher medal, a race shirt designed by a Clear Creek High School or Middle School student, a post race festival, and an inclusivity statement. The GTIS Half is part of the Colorado Mountain Half Plus Series, a collection of regional half marathons that provides series registration options and combined awards.
