Event Overview
The Blue Sky Ascent & Round Trip is a high-altitude running event taking place on Sunday, June 28, 2026. It is based at the Echo Lake Campground in Idaho Springs, Colorado.
Route Details
The race starts at Echo Lake at an elevation of 10,600 feet. The course climbs nearly 4,000 vertical feet over a distance of 14.5 miles. Much of the route is above the treeline. The finish line is at the summit of Mount Blue Sky, which has an elevation of 14,264 feet.
Event Options
Participants can choose between two event formats:
- Ascent: A one-way 14.5 mile climb from Echo Lake to the summit of Mount Blue Sky. This event is open to participants aged 14 to 99.
- Round Trip: Participants run 14.5 miles to the summit of Mount Blue Sky and then run back down the same route. This event is open to participants aged 18 to 99.
