George Mason 5K and Fun Run
This event takes place on October 17, 2026, on the George Mason University campus in Fairfax, Virginia (4373 Mason Pond Dr., Fairfax, VA 22030). The event supports the George Mason University Student Emergency Assistance Fund, and a portion of registration fees is designated as the benefit amount.
Distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 mile Kids' Fun Run (ages 7–12)
The 5K is chip timed and includes an official race t-shirt, bib, and post-race refreshments. The Kids' Fun Run includes a race t-shirt and a finisher medal. Gift cards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and medals will be given to age group winners. Parents or guardians may run alongside children in the Kids' Fun Run at no additional cost.
Registration opens July 20, 2026. Registration deadlines differ by event; the 5K registration closes September 1, 2026, and Kids' Fun Run registration closes on October 17, 2026. Current GMU students may register at a discounted rate of $20 with a valid coupon code. Day-of registration is available and cash is not accepted.
