Geneva Lake Distilling Wine Run 5k
The Geneva Lake Distilling Wine Run 5k is a chip-timed athletic event held at the Geneva Lake Distilling and Winery in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The course is open to both runners and walkers. Participants should be aware that the route involves uneven ground, making the use of strollers possible but not recommended. Because the venue is a produce and vegetable farm, USDA regulations prohibit dogs on the site.
The event offers one primary distance:
- 5 km
Registered participants receive a super soft ring-spun cotton t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a race bib with timing chips. Participants aged 21 and over also receive a portable, shatterproof, and collapsible wine glass along with a pour of wine at the finish line. Minors are permitted to participate with a discounted registration that includes the shirt, medal, and bib, but excludes the wine glass and wine.
Awards are presented to the top three finishers in various age categories, ranging from 19 and under to 80 and over, in ten-year increments. Competitive runners must start in the first wave to remain eligible for these awards. Results are posted online, and winners may collect their custom medals at the registration table on the day of the event. The race serves as a benefit for the New Day Women's Clinic. Packet pickup is available on the morning of the race starting one hour before the event begins. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
