Geneva Lake Distilling Wine Run 5k
The event is a chip-timed 5k run/walk held at Geneva Lake Distilling and Winery, 401 Sheridan Springs Rd, Lake Geneva, WI. Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, a race bib with chip timing, results posted online, and a pour of wine for eligible participants.
The race benefits New Day Women’s Clinic. That organization states a mission of saving the unborn through nurturing and educating expectant mothers and their families and providing free services aimed at help and healing for women affected by the aftermath of abortion. All services from the clinic are described as 100 percent free.
Top three finishers in each age category receive a custom age group award. Age categories are in 10-year increments: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and over. Competitive runners must start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards. There will be no age group ceremony; results are posted online and age group awards must be picked up at the registration table on the day of the event.
Minors may participate with a discounted registration; those minors will receive a shirt, medal, and bib but not a wine glass or a glass of wine. Strollers are permitted though not recommended because of uneven ground. Walking is allowed. Dogs are not permitted on site due to USDA farm restrictions. Packet pick-up is available on race day morning only. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
