Charity and purpose
This race is a charity event to raise money for Camp Tiger. Camp Tiger is a free, five-day camp for children and teens ages 5 to 18 living with physical and cognitive challenges such as cystic fibrosis, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and autism. Since 2000 the camp has been organized by first and second year medical students from LSU Health Shreveport. Camp activities include local trips to attractions such as a skating rink, Sci-Port Discovery Center, a wildlife program, and bowling. All proceeds are designated for the camp.
Logistics
Packet pick-up is at Sportspectrum, 6970 Fern Avenue, Shreveport, with pickup scheduled Thursday, February 26, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Friday, February 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Race packets are also available at the race site on the day of the event.
