Event Overview
The Bespak GEAR 10K is a running event held in King's Lynn, a historic market town in Norfolk. The event is also known as the Grand East Anglia Run. The route is flat and scenic, taking in the town centre, the River Ouse pathway, and The Walks. It passes landmarks including the Custom House, Red Mount, and Greyfriars Tower.
Event Details
The race start is at Tuesday Market Place. Entry is open to people aged 15 and over. The event includes chip timing, a finisher's goody bag, an exclusive medal, and the option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt. Bone-conducting headphones are permitted, but runners are asked to keep the volume low. A baggage store is provided. Participants are not permitted to urinate outside of the designated toilets.
Other Activities
A separate family run called Mini GEAR takes place on the same day. The route is 1.9 km and starts from Tuesday Market Place after the 10K event. There is also a corporate team challenge.
On the Day
An Event Village will have food and drink for purchase, as well as charity stalls. Water stations are located on the course. Pacers will be on the route. Medical personnel and first aid stations will be available. Photographs taken on course can be purchased online. Clothing discarded at the start will be collected and donated.
Sustainability
The event encourages recycling. Bins and recycling bins are provided on the course and in the Event Village. A partnership with JogOn provides a drop-off station for old trainers.
Travel
Parking is available at several car parks in King's Lynn, including Albert Street, Austin Street West, and St James Car Park. Some car parks will be closed for the event. The town is accessible by car via the M11, A10, A1, A47, and A17. Bus and train services also run to King's Lynn. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
