GCTC Rocket Man Run 5K

GCTC Rocket Man Run 5K & Fun Walk

The event takes place on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Gordon Cooper Technology Center, One John C. Bruton Blvd., Shawnee. The program includes a 5K run, a 1-mile fun walk, and a support entry. Entry fees for the 5K and the fun walk are $30 plus online processing fees. Registration opens April 1, 2026. All participants registered by 11:59 PM on August 1 are guaranteed a short-sleeved cotton t-shirt; registrants after that time are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

Course and logistics

The course is an out-and-back route with inclines and hills. All 5K participants will be professionally chip timed and receive an official finish time; fun walk participants will not be timed. A kiosk will be available to scan bibs and print times, and race results will be posted on the race web page within 24 hours. The top 25 overall finishers will receive a commemorative medal as they cross the finish line. Packet pickup is available the day before the event at the Marty Lewis Public Safety Center on the GCTC main campus. Refreshments will be available as runners depart the race area.
