GCAA Community Action 5K Walk/Run
The event is a 5K Walk/Run organized by the Georgia Community Action Association to mark Community Action Month in May 2026. It combines in-person gatherings hosted by local Community Action Agencies with a virtual participation option that allows people to take part from any location.
The event aims to support local and statewide initiatives that empower communities, address the causes and conditions of poverty, and support family well being. T-shirts are distributed at check-in; for registrations made after May 20, 2026, shirts are available on a first come, first served basis.
Registration is open during a scheduled period in May 2026 and carries a registration fee of $10. The event is associated with activities at DeKalb County Wade Walker Park in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and with local host agencies across the state.
The format includes a community-oriented walk/run distance of 5K and both in-person and virtual options. The presentation emphasizes participation in community action efforts and the connection between physical activity and community support.
