Gator Grinder Triathlon - Canby, OR
The Gator Grinder Triathlon takes place on May 9, 2026, in Canby, Oregon, at 1150 S Ivy St. The event offers multiple race formats: Road Bike Sprint Tri, Mountain Bike Sprint Tri, Aquabike, Duathlon, and Relay Sprint Tri. Proceeds support the Canby Gators Swim Club. Registration is online only and race communication is sent by e-mail.
Course and race details
- 500-yard pool swim (6-lane, 25-yard pool)
- 12-mile one-loop bike course
- 3.1-mile run, mostly on roadways, about one-third on a paved walking trail
The swim is a 500-yard pool swim with up to four swimmers per lane and volunteer lap counters. Drafting is permitted in the swim and heats are seeded by submitted 500-yard swim times; heat assignments are emailed before the race. The bike is a one-loop, 12-mile route over rolling country roads; a helmet is mandatory and drafting on the bike is not legal. Roads remain open to traffic and riders are responsible for their safety. The run is largely on roadways with water available on course. Duathlon and Aquabike use the same segments as the triathlon. Registration, fees and awards
Entry is online only. Entry fees are $75 individual / $130 relay through February 28, 2026; prices increase after that date. The stated registration deadline is May 5, 2026. Cancellations by March 31, 2026, receive a full refund less $10; no refunds after March 31 and entries are non-transferable. T-shirts are guaranteed for entries registered before March 31. Awards include ribbons for the top three male and female finishers in each age group, plus top overall male and female and top male and female from Canby. Packets are available on race day.
