Gator Gauntlet Off-road Triathlon : Lake Charles, LA
The event takes place at Sam Houston Jones State Park and uses the Calcasieu West Fork River for the paddle on August 29, 2026. The full course totals roughly 13 miles and is divided into running, mountain biking, and kayaking segments. Proceeds benefit the trails at Sam Houston Jones State Park.
The course breakdown:
- Run: approximately 4 miles of trail running.
- Mountain bike: approximately 8 miles on park trails.
- Paddle: approximately 1 mile on the river.
There are two entry formats: a Single Off-road Triathlon and an Off-road Triathlon Relay. For the Single entry, participants must bring their own mountain bike and kayak. For the Relay, bringing a kayak is preferred; kayaks and life jackets will be available on a first come, first use basis. Life jackets are required during the kayak leg. Bicycle helmets are required during the mountain biking leg.
