The Gator Gallop 5K takes place in Wakefield, Massachusetts, utilizing a route that begins and ends at the lower common. The event offers multiple participation options for different age groups:

Kids 1 Mile Fun Run

The 5K is a flat road race that follows a scenic path around Lake Quannapowitt. This course starts and finishes at the lower common, near the intersection of Main Street and Church Street. Portable toilets are provided at the event site for participants.

The Kids 1 Mile Fun Run is specifically designed for children aged 10 and under. The one mile route is protected and lined with spectators. While parents are encouraged to cheer, they do not run the course with their children. For this reason, organizers suggest the distance may not be suitable for children under the age of 5.

Proceeds from the event support the Greenwood School PTO and the Wakefield Educational Foundation. These nonprofit organizations fund various educational initiatives, including classroom supplies, school library books, STEAM enrichment resources, and hands-on learning programs that fall outside the standard school system budget.
