9th Annual Garland Guzzler 0.5K Run
The Garland Guzzler is a short community running event held in Downtown Garland at Garland City Square, 520 W State St, Garland, TX 75040, on October 3, 2026. The event is presented with a 1970s theme; costumes inspired by the 1970s and Star Wars are encouraged.
The running distance is 0.5K. Registration opens July 13, 2026 and closes September 14, 2026. The listed registration fee is $25.00.
Post-race activities include live music by Le Freak, a Disco Roller Derby featuring Assassination City Roller Derby, a 1970s Sci Fi Costume Pre-Party, games, food, and family-friendly activities throughout Downtown Garland. Participants receive event swag including custom race medals, race t-shirts, and additional goodies.
Awards are presented to top finishers across age divisions, including kids, teens, and multiple adult age groups, and to winners of costume and performance categories. Costume and choice awards include Disco King and Disco Queen for best dressed, Best Costume in the Galaxy, Best Costume Group, Grooviest Get-up, Most Likely to Drive a VW, and a dance contest prize.
