Event overview
The Garden State event takes place on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Colonial Park in Franklin Township, Somerset County. Distances offered include:
- 10 Miler
- 5K
- Youth mile
There is a relay option for the 10 Miler. Runners may enter both the 5K and the 10 Miler and earn both a finisher and a challenge medal. Both the 5K and 10 Miler are part of the USATF-NJ Grand Prix as 500 point races.
Logistics and course
Packet pickup is scheduled at Road Runner Sports in North Brunswick on Friday (4:00pm-8:00pm) and Saturday (10:00am-2:00pm). Registration and packet pickup on race day are handled in Lot B at Colonial Park. Colonial Park is a 685 acre Somerset County park with frontage on the Delaware and Raritan Canal and the Millstone River.
Parking options include lots inside the park and lots along Mettlers Lane; volunteers will be at each lot. The relay handoff exchange zone is at the Mettlers and Colonial Drive intersection. Runners with a pace slower than 12:30 per mile must enter the park and complete the final roughly six miles inside Colonial Park to qualify for the finisher medal. Bathrooms are available near the registration tent and finish line and in county park facilities.
Water is available at multiple stations. For the 5K there are stations near about 0.5 mile and 2 miles. The 10 Miler has water stations at approximately 1.2, 5K, 4.1, 10K, 7.6, and 9.1 miles.
Proceeds for this year support a $4,000 Franklin High School scholarship fund for graduating seniors in ROTC and Franklin Fit programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
