Overview
The Game On! Key Largo Triathlon Summer takes place on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in Key Largo, Florida. The event program includes Olympic and Sprint distance races and several related formats: Olympic Triathlon, Olympic Duathlon, Olympic Aquabike, Olympic Triathlon Relay, Sprint Triathlon, Sprint Duathlon, Sprint Triathlon Relay, Special Compass Solo PC with Buddy, and Special Compass PC Relay with Buddy. The race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and lists City Bikes as the title sponsor. Finishers receive a coral reef finisher medal and age-group awards are hand-crafted "reef" awards given three deep up to the 80+ categories.
Course and venue
Races are based at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park (MM 102.5, Overseas Highway). The swim takes place at the park's main beach in clear salt water described as warm, relatively shallow, and with no current. The bike course is an out-and-back on Overseas Highway/Card Sound Road. Run options follow a neighborhood route described as either a 3.5 or 6.2 run through a Florida Keys residential area. The park is the first undersea park in the U.S., covering about 70 nautical square miles, and offers marine attractions such as coral reefs, snorkeling, scuba diving, glass-bottom boat tours, canoeing and kayaking, and a visitor center with a 30,000-gallon saltwater aquarium.
