Furry 5K Fun Run and Walk
The Furry 5K Fun Run and Walk is an annual community event held at Seward Park in Seattle. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Seattle Animal Shelter, supporting critical services for the city's vulnerable animals. Participants can choose between two primary activities:
- 5K RUN (3.1 miles)
- 5K WALK (3.1 miles)
The course is timed, and finisher awards are presented following the event. Aside from the chip-timed run and the walk, the day includes a post-race festival known as Paws in the Park. This gathering features a variety of entertainment options, an interactive vendor area, and sponsor booths.
A notable highlight of the event is the pet costume contest, where participants can showcase their animals. The event also provides opportunities for additional fundraising and volunteering to support the shelter's mission. Day-of registration and packet pickup are available on-site at the park before the start of the activities.
Registration fees vary based on the timing of entry, with fixed rates for early bird registration, standard registration, and day-of registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
