The Fuel to Fight Cancer event takes place on October 17, 2026 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at 301 South 28th Ave. The event features running and walking options and includes a free Kids Fun Run in The Healing Garden.

The event was established in 2022 to increase awareness and provide transportation assistance for cancer patients receiving treatment at the Forrest General Cancer Center. One hundred percent of proceeds are used to provide transportation assistance for patients in need.
Registration opens May 5, 2026 and closes October 15, 2026. Registration fees are listed as $45.00 for the 5 Mile race and $35.00 for the 5K and the 2 Mile Walk. Registration includes race entry, bib, t-shirt, refreshments, and chipped virtual timing with real-time results. T shirts are not guaranteed for participants who register after October 5.
Packet pick up is scheduled for Friday, October 16 from 4pm to 7pm and Saturday, October 17 from 6am to 7am. Race categories are organized by age groups: under 10, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Awards for the 2 Mile Walk will be presented to the top five finishers overall.
