Event

Frozen Falcon is a winter, looped trail running race held at Falcon Trails Resort / Falcon Ridge Ski Slopes near Falcon Lake, Manitoba in Whiteshell Provincial Park. The event runs for 8 hours on Sunday, January 11, 2026. The course uses the groomed High Lake Multi-Use Trail with a loop of about 6.5 km. Running eight loops (just over 50k) earns a special 50k finisher award; repeat 50k efforts earn an additional snowflake patch. Participants who reach 40 cumulative loops receive special recognition.

Course and logistics

The race uses manual timing with no live tracking; runners must enter the Yurt at the end of each loop to have laps recorded and to confirm if they are finished. Snowshoes are allowed. The Yurt serves as the aid station and timing location and provides space for personal gear. Aid station items include chips, candy, instant noodle soup, vegetable broth and water. Falcon Ridge’s chalet offers food for sale during the day. Entry includes access to the groomed winter-use trail, the Yurt, first aid support with an AED on site, the event patch and a post-race meal. The field is capped at 60 participants and bib transfers are permitted through December 14. The organizer’s refund policy states there are no refunds or deferrals if the event is cancelled for reasons beyond their control. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
