Frostbite 5k Run/Walk : Louisville, KY

The event takes place on January 10, 2026, at 765 Cochran Hill Rd, Louisville, KY 40206. It is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series and is the second leg of the Polar Bear Grand Prix, a three-race winter series held in December, January, and February. The event offers in-person and virtual options.

Virtual participants can submit results from Thursday, January 8 until midnight on Sunday, January 11. Finisher certificates and rankings become available on Monday, January 12.

Entry, awards and charity

Entry includes a long sleeve 1/4 zip tech shirt (subject to change), a finisher medal, free race photography, age group awards, and awards for Overall, Masters, and Grand Masters. The race shirt is guaranteed to the first 500 registered. Age group awards are given for top three in each group from 9 and under up to 80 and over. Team competition is offered, and awards include Age Group and overall placements.

The Polar Bear Grand Prix Team Challenge accepts teams of 3 to 5 in Male, Female, or Coed divisions; the fastest three finishers on each team are scored and Coed teams must include at least one woman. There is no additional fee to enter the Team Challenge; winning team members receive a personalized Team Challenge pullover.

The event partners with Olmsted Parks Conservancy for fundraising. Participants who raise $150 or more have their registration fee waived. Registration fees vary by registration date; listed 5k pricing examples include $28.41 (early) and up to $44.52 for later registration.
