Frostbite 5k Run/Walk 2027 : Event details
The Frostbite 5k Run/Walk takes place on January 9, 2027, at Cherokee Park Scenic Loop, listed at 2949 Scenic Loop, Louisville, KY. The event is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series and serves as the second leg of the Polar Bear Grand Prix, a winter series of three races held in December, January and February.

- Virtual 5k
- Virtual 5k with packet mailing
Entry includes a long sleeve 1/4 zip tech shirt (subject to change), a finisher medal, free race photography, age group awards, awards for overall, masters and grand masters, and a team competition. Each Polar Bear Grand Prix race has a finisher medal that can connect with the others to form a larger series medal.
The Polar Bear Grand Prix Team Challenge accepts 3 to 5 person teams in Male, Female, or Coed divisions; the fastest three on each team are scored and Coed teams must include at least one woman. There is no additional fee to join the team challenge.
The Olmsted Parks Conservancy is the charity partner; participants may fundraise or donate and a registration waiver is available for participants who raise $150 or more. Pre-race packet pickup is scheduled the day before (details TBD); race day packet pickup is at the Rugby Field on the Scenic Loop. Parking is limited; there is a small lot and marked roadside spots and the Parks Department may ticket or tow vehicles parked on grass.
