Frostbite 5k Run/Walk 2027
Frostbite 5k Run/Walk takes place on January 9, 2027 at the Rugby Field on the Scenic Loop in Cherokee Park, 2949 Scenic Loop, Louisville, KY. The event is organized by River City Races and offers both an in-person 5k and virtual participation options.
The race is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series and serves as the second leg of the Polar Bear Grand Prix. The Polar Bear Grand Prix comprises three races in December, January and February; each race awards a finisher medal that connects with the others. The first 300 registrants in each Polar Bear Grand Prix race receive an extra race goodie.
Entry fees include a long sleeve 1/4 zip tech shirt subject to change, a finisher medal, free race photography, age group awards, awards for Overall, Masters and Grand Masters, and a team competition. The Polar Bear Grand Prix Team Challenge is open to 3 to 5 person teams in Male, Female and Coed divisions. Teams score their fastest three finishers, Coed teams must include at least one woman, and there is no additional fee to enter the team challenge.
The event lists the Olmsted Parks Conservancy as a charity partner and notes fundraising options; raising $150 or more can result in a free registration.
