Event
The Frostbite 5k Run/Walk takes place on January 10, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. The event base is at 765 Cochran Hill Rd, Louisville, KY 40206, in Cherokee Park. It is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series and is the second leg of the Polar Bear Grand Prix, a three-race winter series. Each race in the Polar Bear Grand Prix awards a finisher medal that fits together with the other races to form a larger series medal.
Distances
- 5k - in-person 5 kilometer run/walk in Cherokee Park.
- Virtual 5k - complete the distance at a chosen location and submit results.
- Virtual 5k with Packet Mailing - virtual option with mailed race packet.
Details
Entry includes a long sleeve 1/4 zip tech shirt (shirt guaranteed to the first 500 registered), a finisher medal, free race photography, age group awards, overall/master/grandmaster awards, and team competition. The Polar Bear Grand Prix offers an extra race goodie for early registrants and a team challenge open to 3 to 5 person teams in Male, Female, or Coed divisions; the fastest three on each team are scored and the Coed team must score one woman. Packet pickup and late registration are available at a local running store and at the park on race weekend. Parking near the Rugby Field is limited; participants are asked to carpool, be dropped off, or park elsewhere around the Scenic Loop.
