Frostbite 5k Run/Walk 2027
The Frostbite event is scheduled for January 9, 2027 in Cherokee Park, Louisville, KY, at 2949 Scenic Loop. It is organized by River City Races and is part of the Run the 502 series; it also serves as the second leg of the Polar Bear Grand Prix.

Entry includes a long sleeve 1/4 zip tech shirt subject to change, a finisher medal, free race photography, and eligibility for age group, overall, masters, and grand masters awards. Awards include Ken Combs Running Store gift certificates for top overall finishers and age group medals that attach to the finisher medal.
The Polar Bear Grand Prix spans three winter races in December, January, and February; each race awards a finisher medal that links with the others, and an extra race goodie is provided to the first 300 entrants. The Polar Bear Grand Prix Team Challenge accepts teams of 3 to 5 in Male, Female, and Coed divisions; the fastest three team members are scored and Coed teams must include at least one woman. There is no additional fee to enter the team challenge.
Olmsted Parks Conservancy is the listed charity partner for the Frostbite race and fundraising is available; raising $150 or more waives registration. Packet pickup occurs Friday, January 8 and on race day at the Rugby Field in Cherokee Park. Parking at the Rugby Field is very limited; a small lot and marked roadside spots are available and parking on the grass may result in a ticket or towing.
