Frostbite 5k Run/Walk 2027
Frostbite 5k Run/Walk takes place on January 9, 2027 in Cherokee Park, Louisville, Kentucky, at 2949 Scenic Loop. The event offers an in-person 5k and two virtual options, all associated with River City Races series programming.

Entry items and awards included with registration are a long sleeve quarter zip tech shirt subject to change, a finisher medal, free race photography, age group awards, and awards for Overall, Masters, and Grand Masters. Top overall finishers receive Ken Combs Running Store gift certificates and age group finishers receive commemorative medals that slide over the finisher ribbon.
This race is the second leg of the Polar Bear Grand Prix, a three race series in December, January, and February. The Polar Bear Grand Prix includes an individual finisher medal for each race and a combined series medal for completing all three. The race is also part of the Run the 502 series where completing six races yields a finisher medal with charms for each race finished. The Polar Bear Grand Prix Team Challenge is open to 3 to 5 person Male Female and Coed teams, with the fastest three scores counting; Coed teams must score at least one woman and there is no extra fee to participate.
The Olmsted Parks Conservancy is the event charity partner. Fundraising options are available and participants who raise $150 or more have their registration fee waived. Packet pickup is offered the day before and on race day at the Rugby Field on the Scenic Loop. Parking at the Rugby Field is limited; there are a small lot and marked roadside spots around the Scenic Loop and parking on grass may result in tickets or towing.
