Frostbite 5k Run/Walk 2027
Frostbite 5k Run/Walk takes place on January 9, 2027, at Scenic Loop in Cherokee Park, Louisville, Kentucky. The event is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series and serves as the second leg of the Polar Bear Grand Prix. Each race in the Polar Bear Grand Prix awards a finisher medal that fits together with the other races to form a series medal.

- Virtual 5k
- Virtual 5k with packet mailing
Entry includes a long sleeve 1/4 zip tech shirt (subject to change), a finisher medal, free race photography, and awards for age groups and overall finishers. Ken Combs Running Store gift certificates are listed for top overall finishers and for top finishers in standard age groups. There is a team competition and a Polar Bear Grand Prix Team Challenge for 3 to 5 person teams in male, female, and coed divisions; the fastest three on each team are scored and coed teams must include at least one woman. No extra fee is required to enter the team challenge.
The event partners with the Olmsted Parks Conservancy for fundraising; participants who raise $150 or more have their registration waived. Packet pickup is available before the event and on race day at the Rugby Field on the Scenic Loop. Parking near the Rugby Field is limited and park rules prohibit parking on the grass.
