Frigid Trail Race & Polar Plunge
Frigid Trail Race & Polar Plunge is a trail running event at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. The event offers two measured trail distances and concludes with a plunge into the Deep Water Solo pool.

- 5K trail course
- 10K trail course
Registration options include pre-registration and day-of registration with different fees for each distance; pre-registration must be completed by January 27, 2027. Packet pick-up is offered on the Thursday and Friday before the event and on race day. Race shirts and optional hoodies for the 2027 design are guaranteed only to participants who pre-register on or before January 18, 2027. A commemorative mug with hot chocolate is available as an add-on.
Event policies require each participant to sign the Whitewater Center Assumption of Risk Agreement before participating. Race registration is non-refundable. Trails used for the race remain open to other runners, hikers, and bikers; participants are asked to communicate when passing other trail users. E-bikes and powered transportation are not allowed in Whitewater Race Series events. The Whitewater Center charges a daily parking fee. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers by age group in both the 5K and 10K divisions, and winners must be present at the award ceremony to receive awards.
