Friendship APL 5K & Dog Walk

The event on May 8, 2027 takes place at Bur Oak Pavilion, 6150 Ford Rd, Elyria, OH 44035. It features a timed 5K run/walk and an untimed 1 mile dog walk. Distances offered:

Registration opens December 29, 2026 at 00:01 and closes April 11, 2027 at 23:59. Early registration fees through April 11 are $35 for the 5K and $25 for the 1 mile; fees increase after that date to $40 for the 5K and $30 for the 1 mile. Race shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by Monday, April 20; sizes are subject to availability after that date. Post-race refreshments will be provided.

The 5K includes awards for the top three male and female overall finishers and top three in each age category: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. The course is an out-and-back route; participants running with dogs are asked to start toward the back, keep dogs on a short leash, and be aware of runners returning on the opposite side of the trail.

Friendship APL is a private, independent 501(c)(3) humane society founded in Elyria in 1957. One hundred percent of proceeds from this event support Friendship APL's mission to care for animals in Lorain County. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
