The Friendship APL 5K & Dog Walk takes place on May 9, 2026, in Elyria, Ohio at Bur Oak Pavilion, 6150 Ford Rd, Elyria, OH 44035. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Dog Walk
The 5K is a timed event; the 1 Mile Dog Walk is not timed. The course is an out-and-back route. Participants running with dogs are asked to start toward the back and to keep dogs on a short leash so they are aware of runners coming back on the other side of the trail.

Entry fees change after April 12: the 5K is listed as $30 through April 12, then $35; the 1 Mile Dog Walk is listed as $20 through April 12, then $25. A race shirt is guaranteed for registrations through Thursday, May 1. Post-race refreshment and a post-race yoga session with an instructor are provided.
Shelter dogs may be available to "rent" for the 1 Mile Dog Walk on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of rentable dogs depends on which dogs are available at the shelter and on weather that day; availability could be limited or none. Rentable dogs can be taken for a discretionary donation, with a suggested amount of $15-20.
