Friendship APL 5K & Dog Walk
Friendship APL hosts a community 5K run and a 1 mile dog walk at Bur Oak Pavilion, 6150 Ford Rd, Elyria, OH 44035. The event includes a timed 5K run and a non timed 1 mile dog walk. Registration opens December 30, 2025 and closes April 12, 2026. Entry fees are $35 for the 5K through April 12 and $40 after that; $25 for the 1 mile walk through April 12 and $30 after that.
Participants who register by Monday, April 20 are guaranteed a race shirt, with sizes subject to availability after that date. Post race refreshments are provided. The 5K offers awards for top finishers overall and by age group: Top 3 Male and Female Overall, and Top 3 in age categories 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over.
Friendship APL is a private 501(c)(3) non profit humane society founded in Elyria in 1957 that operates an animal shelter in Lorain County. One hundred percent of proceeds from the event support Friendship APL's mission. Participants running with dogs are asked to start toward the back, keep dogs on a short leash, and be aware that the course is out and back with runners approaching from the opposite direction.
