Turkey Dash

The Turkey Dash is a family-friendly 5K run/walk held on Thanksgiving morning at Avon High School in Avon, OH (37545 Detroit Road, 44011). The event supports financial aid for families in Northern Ohio affected by a breast cancer diagnosis. Over its history the event has attracted more than 1,500 participants and spectators and has raised over $500,000 for the mission.

The event offers race perks that include a Turkey Dash race sweatshirt, post-run snacks such as pumpkin pie and fruit, and post-run refreshments including coffee and hot chocolate. Awards are presented to the top three male and female overall finishers, and medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age bracket (9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, … 75-79, 80+). Packet pickup and on-site registration are available the day before and the morning of the event at the AHS Auxiliary Gym.

Registration in 2026 uses an early-bird and after-November-1 fee structure: adult early-bird $35 and after-November-1 $40; child (12 and under) early-bird $25 and after-November-1 $40. Sponsor levels are available with named benefits on apparel, banners, and signs; the cut-off for name or logo on event swag is November 1, 2026.
