Friends of Fishtown 5K
The Fishtown Preservation Society presents the 18th Annual Fishtown 5K on July 18, 2026, in Fishtown at 201 W. River St., Leland, Michigan. The event offers an in-person 5K that starts and finishes in the heart of Fishtown and follows a marked course through Leland neighborhoods and along the Leland River with gradual climbs and descents.
In-person features include start-to-finish RFID chip timing, corraled starts, hydration stations along the route, and post-race fuel. The race is part of the Traverse City Track Club 2026 Grand Prix Series. Age-group awards are given in five-year divisions beginning at age 5 and continuing through 80 and over. Special awards include top three male and female finishers in each age group, overall female and male awards, and Masters awards for best overall runners age 40 and older.
A remote packet option called Can’t Be Here is available for participants who want race swag without attending in person. Packets for remote registrants are mailed the week after the race; a shipping charge is added. Race packets for all participants include a logo tee when registered by June 18, a logo sticker, and a commemorative bib. Registration opens February 1, 2026; registration price increases on June 1. Packet pickup dates are listed for the days before and on race weekend, and unclaimed packets are available at the Fishtown Preservation Society office through July 31 on weekdays.
