Events
The event offers two participation options: an in-person 5K run/walk and a "Can't Be Here" option. The in-person option costs $40. The "Can't Be Here" option costs $47 and includes a race packet mailed to participants after the event.
Course and Features
The in-person 5K starts and finishes in Fishtown, Leland. The route has gradual climbs and descents. It is chip-timed using RFID technology from start to finish, managed by Newton Timing & Race Services. The start uses a corral system with the fastest runners at the front. Hydration stations are available on the course, and post-race refreshments are provided. The event is open to runners, walkers, participants with strollers, and leashed dogs. It is included in the Traverse City Track Club's 2026 Grand Prix Series.
Registration and Perks
Online registration opens on February 1, 2026. The price increases on June 1. Registration guarantees a race t-shirt if completed by June 18. Online registration closes on July 17 at 6:00 PM. Race-day registration is available until 8:30 AM on July 18 for chip timing. All participants receive a commemorative race bib and a logo sticker. In-person registrants receive a logo t-shirt (if registered by June 18) and post-race fuel. "Can't Be Here" participants receive a t-shirt, sticker, and bib via mail for an added $7 shipping fee.
Awards
Awards are given in five-year age categories starting from age 5. The top three male and female finishers in each age category receive a special Fishtown 5K medal. The overall male and female winners receive a unique award. "Can't Be Here" participants have a chance to win early-registration prizes.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup for in-person registrants is available on July 17 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Leland Library's Munnecke Room. On race day, pickup is in Fishtown from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM. Unclaimed packets can be collected at the FPS office on weekdays through the end of July. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
